Chapter Chapter 3 in Inequality and Poverty, 2019, pp 5-6 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Inequality can be morally offensive both because it is objectionable in itself and because it has harmful consequences. Chapter 2 explored the first idea, and this chapter here explores the second idea. It is noted, in the present chapter, that inequality can be instrumental in causing damage to a number of desired social and economic outcomes, including income growth, efficiency, societal harmony, and a population’s good health.
