Chapter Chapter 1 in Money and Government, 2022, pp 1-9 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Money-using can solve market incompleteness. We sketch a rough image of money in premodern China and Japan, and introduce the main skein argument of the book. Comparision from a historical perspective could explain the role of money and the function of state.
