Chapter Chapter 2 in Social Entrepreneurship, Social Business and the Multi-functionality of Urban Agriculture, 2022, pp 7-18 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Literature review on some key factors for a sustainable urban development is conducted in this chapter. Creativity which is considered as the driving force of development has four aspects of ‘Person’, ‘Process’, ‘Product’, and ‘Press’ according to (Cropley et al (eds) Encyclopedia of creativity, Elsevier, 2011). In addition, Westlund et al. (Westlund et al, Handbook of research on entrepreneurship and creativity, Edward Elgar Publishing, Cheltenham, 2014) positioned creativity as an element of social capital (SC), and regarded it as the relationship between Press and Person. On the other hand, the rationale of multi-functionality of agriculture is explained in this chapter from the theory of Creating Shared Value (CSV), which is the idea that a company creates social value by working to solve social needs and social problems, and as a result, economic value is created (Porter and Kramer, Harv Bus Rev 89:62–77, 2011). It pointed out that no research has analyzed urban agriculture with multiple functions as a social business (SB) from the perspective of enhancing the creativity and sustainability of cities through the involvement of creative class so far.
