Chapter Chapter 1 in Minisum Hyperspheres, 2011, pp 1-21 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter provides the reader with an introduction to the minisum hypersphere problem and the mathematical preliminaries required in this book. Related problems as well as assorted applications of the minisum hypersphere problem are presented. A main topic of this chapter is a review of norms in finite dimensional real Banach spaces. Moreover, the concept of a finite dominating set is introduced which is the basis for several results presented in the book.
