Chapter Chapter 7 in Turnpike Phenomenon and Symmetric Optimization Problems, 2022, pp 267-294 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter we study symmetric optimization problems arising in crystallography, which are identified with the corresponding space of objective functions, equipped with an appropriate complete metric. Using the Baire category approach and the porosity notion, we show that a typical (generic) problem has exactly two different solutions and is well-posed.
