Abstract: Conclusion SSM provided an original slant to a traditional engineering environment, prompting both novelty in intervention and world-views. Solutions were found as a result of the analysis and this in turn provided new ground to explore. The changes made initially were however relatively neat and tangible administrative changes and to tackle the more invidious influences of values and attitudes required intervention band understanding beyond the scope of SSM. By understanding the impact of the secretarie’s values as a switchboard for information and progression a radical solution (his sacking) proved to be the only way of addressing the values incompatibility.
