Chapter 45 in Synergy Matters, 2002, pp 265-270 from Springer

Abstract: Conclusion Meeting the challenges ahead will require significant organizational and social change, and calls for synergy between leadership and systems theory and practice. Bass (1990) contends that the application of a systems approach to leadership is a substantive issue for the 21st century (pp. 896–909). This paper has taken some first steps in doing so by suggesting a possible linkage between transformational leadership and the systems methodology known as Total Systems Intervention. Other linkages are undoubtedly possible and likely to emerge in the next century.
