Chapter 4 in Combinatorial Computational Biology of RNA, 2011, pp 85-142 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we develop the theory of k-noncrossing and k-noncrossing, σ-canonical structures. We derive their generating functions and obtain their singularity analysis, which produces simple, asymptotic formulas for the numbers of various types of k-noncrossing s-canonical structures.
