Abstract:
Abstract There are phenomena from an experiment on a target “population” that are deterministic, in the sense that when we observe them, we are absolutely sure about their outcomes. However, there are other phenomena that are nondeterministic. More often than not, the quantitative or categorical outcomes of interest induced from the phenomena will not be predictable. Probability and statistics are the branches of knowledge dealing with such stochastic phenomena and uncertainties.
