Chapter 6 in An Introduction to Linear and Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis, 2004, pp 107-136 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We consider second-order partial differential equations which involve the scalarvalued dependent variable u = u(x, y). A simple example of the equations of this type is the Poisson’ equation. We will present some examples of solving Poisson’ and Laplace equations using the linear triangular and bilinear rectangular element.
