Abstract:
Abstract In 1908 the British mathematician Hardy and the German medical doctor Weinberg independently discovered that in an infinitely large population that mates randomly according to Mendel’s laws, the frequencies of the genotypes obtained from two alleles remain constant through generations. Their mathematical model was one of the starting points for population genetics.
