Chapter Chapter 3 in A Guide to Simulation, 1987, pp 77-123 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In Section 1.6 we asked: (1) How do we get good estimates of some measure of performance? (2) How do we get good estimates of the goodness of these estimates? To answer (1), we must answer (2). To answer (2), we consider the two-way layout below: Our measure of performance, which we estimate using output from a simulation, falls in one of the four empty boxes above. In this chapter we discuss statistical analyses that attempt to quantify the goodness of our estimates. The letters below are keyed to the above layout.
