Chapter 1 in Ordered Sets, 2003, pp 1-23 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract There are few prerequisites to this text. The reader should be familiar with real numbers, functions, sets and relations. Moreover the elusive property known as “mathematical maturity” should have been developed to the point that the reader can read and understand proofs and produce simple proofs. A text that develops these skills is for example [103]. A background in graph theory helps, but is not necessary.
