Abstract:
Abstract Plane geodetic networks consist of nodes, some of them with known coordinates, the rest with unknown coordinates. Geodetic measurements describe the edges of the graph and at the same time serve as a means for estimating the coordinates of the unknown nodes. We always make more observations than necessary and then use the method of least squares for at least two reasons, (1) a unique solution of the problem, and (2) estimation of the a posteriori covariance matrix of the parameters.
