Abstract: Abstract Let T be an operator on a Hilbert space H and consider its absolute value $$\left| T \right| = {{\left( {T*T} \right)}^{{\frac{1}{2}}}}$$ . Note that the self-commutator of T can be written as $${{D}_{T}} = T*T - TT* = {{\left| T \right|}^{2}} - {{\left| {T*} \right|}^{2}}$$
