A chapter in Computing Science and Statistics, 1992, pp 479-483 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In contrast to the vast amount of theoretical work on the Dirichlet distribution there is very little work done on the practical aspects of the distribution like parameter estimation, computer simulation, and testing small sample properties. The thesis of this paper is to investigate such aspects of the distribution which have been neglected so far.
