Chapter 8 in State Space and Input-Output Linear Systems, 1998, pp 114-131 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In §7 we demonstrated that almost any real time-invariant m-input, p -output finite-dimensional state space linear system whose state space X has dimension n may be realized; that is to say, there exist for most such systems real constant matrices A, B, C, and D having respective sizes (n × n), (n × m), (p × n), and (p × m) such that the system’s behavior may be analyzed in terms of the equations.
