Abstract:
Abstract Some computer simulation studies on SSA are discussed. There are two groups of such simulations. One deals with expected stress values for random data or error-perturbed distances which are represented via ordinal SSA in different dimensionalities. The other simulation studies investigate how well ordinal SSA recovers known configurations if their error-perturbed distances are used as data, how well known monotonic transformation functions relating data and distances are reconstructed, how ordinal SSA is affected by missing data and degraded data, and how interval SSA does under these circumstances.
