Abstract:
Abstract An integrated two-year curriculum in mathematics was developed during a one-day workshop session. Please note that this paper is precisely what its title states--the report of a workshop. The workshop followed two days of discussion of the papers presented earlier in this volume. Drafts of these papers had been read by the participants prior to the conference. Nine papers contain recommendations related to course content for the first two years. These papers are those of Alo, Bushaw, Norman, Roberts, Scherlis and Shaw, Weissglass, Wilf and Zionts. Further, the Recommendations for a General Mathematical Science Program of the Committee on the Undergraduate Program in Mathematics [1], served regularly as a basic resource in the discussions.
