Abstract: Abstract Narrowly defined, demography deals with the measurement of vital events (birth, death, and marriage) and migration, studies the factors that influence the rate at which those events occur, and, to a lesser extent, investigates the consequences of the patterns of these events. In this paper, we adopt this narrow definition of the field and consider only the first three events so that by limiting the scope of our review, we can examine these selected topics in detail.
