A chapter in Computer Science and Statistics: Proceedings of the 13th Symposium on the Interface, 1981, pp 375-378 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract One of the significant difficulties with automatic edit and imputation is that any attempt to rigorously justify the methods used must confront the problem of the “error model”: the observed record x is the true record y plus an error vector ε, $$ {\rm x = y + \varepsilon } $$ .
