Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we continue our consideration of continuous outcome variables. We now address the use of analysis of variance (ANOVA) in the situation where we have one or more categorical predictor variables. Well review the concepts underlying ANOVA, and describe how to apply it in SAS with PROC GLM. We’ll introduce the concept of error terms. We wi’ll also take the opportunity to go over the concept of interaction in epidemiological studies
