Chapter Chapter 6 in SAS for Epidemiologists, 2013, pp 79-89 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we introduce those procedures that are most likely to be of benefit at the earliest stages of epidemiologic analysis. Some relatively simple procedures (MEANS, FREQ, TABULATE) can be used to get descriptive information about your data. Sometimes this may be all you are interested in. More likely, you will use this information to inform and guide further analyses. We will defer for the moment some of the theory underlying these analyses and will return to the topics of categorical and continuous analyses in future chapters.
