Abstract:
Abstract This paper gives an overview of the research at Fraunhofer FIRST in the field of parallel simulation with application to environmental management. It presents the conception and history of the DYMOS model system and the interconnections between DYMOS and the further, more applied projects. The developed systems have been applied for winter smog, summer smog, ozone forecast, transboundary air pollution, traffic induced air pollution, environmental risk management and will be enlarged to include climate change and sustainable development in the near future. The general aim of DYMOS is to provide users with branch-oriented simulation systems and the know-how necessary for applying these systems.
