Abstract: Abstract Some differential equations are solved in one dimension. The first is Laplace’s equation 10.1 $${{{d^2}} \over {d{x^2}}}\phi (x) = 0$$ Its only Solution is Ø(x) =a + bx where the constants a,b are set by the boundary conditions. A second order equation always has two constants. The Solution is dull: it is a straight line.
