Abstract: Abstract So far, the distributions p(x) that we have considered were defined for finitely many values x 1,...,x n . We shall now consider distributions f(x) defined for all real numbers x or for real numbers x in some interval. This is a big step to take, so it is worth pausing to ask why we do so.
