A chapter in Approximation, Probability, and Related Fields, 1994, pp 237-245 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This note considers a pure death process with random death rate, subject to a 2-state Markov chain. The Kolmogorov forward equations lead to a formal solution in terms of Laplace transforms. The problem is a first step towards solving the carrier borne epidemic where the carriers are subject to this type of death process.
