Abstract:
Abstract The properties of spin-polarized Fermi liquids have been discussed theoretically and investigated experimentally for several decades already. The main objects are the liquid 3He and 3He -4He mixtures. Many original papers and several review articles have been written on this subject’, there is no need to repeat these earlier results here. A new rise of interest in the spin-polarized liquids in the last few years is greatly stimulated by the progress in methods of producing a high polarization at low temperatures. The simplest method is the direct polarization by a magnetic field. For a degenerate liquid the orientational effect of magnetic field on magnetic moments of 3He nuclei competes with the increase of the kinetic energy of quasiparticles.
