Abstract:
Abstract This chapter presents an analysis of the distribution of ages in a population. We begin with a discussion of the aging process itself and then present some data on the age-structures of actual populations. We finish with a mathematical description of age-structures. Our primary interest is in humans, but the principles we present will apply to practically any mammal and perhaps to other animals as well.
