Abstract: Abstract In many problems of calculus on manifolds and in differential topology, it is crucial to have some knowledge about the distribution of regular values of a C r function f: M → N, with M and N manifolds. For example, the construction of degree (Chapter 7) is based on the fact that the set of regular values of f is dense in N.
