Chapter 3 in Statistical Consulting, 2002, pp 61-146 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The aim of this chapter is to provide the reader with an overview of some standard techniques that are commonly used in statistical consulting. In keeping with spirit of this book the emphasis of our presentation is on the client’s perspective rather than the technical details of the methods. Appendix C does provides some technical details and tables, but a more comprehensive exposition of these methods may be found elsewhere. We provide references to the methods we discuss and an overview of statistical software is provided at the end of this chapter.
