Big Data at Work
David Feinleib
Chapter Chapter 4 in Big Data Bootcamp, 2014, pp 49-62 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract When it comes to data and design, there’s a struggle going on. Some believe that the best designs come from gut instinct while others hold that design should be data-driven. Data does have a role to play in design and modern technologies can provide deep insight into how users interact with products—which features they use and which ones they don’t. This chapter explores how some of today’s leading companies, including Facebook and Apple, apply data to design and how you can bring a data-informed design approach to developing your own products.
