The Importance of Measurement and Metrics
Alberto S. Silveira
Chapter Chapter 7 in Building and Managing High-Performance Distributed Teams, 2021, pp 73-83 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract All projects and teams need processes and measurements. The quote “You can’t manage what you can’t measure” has been used for decades in business management philosophy. It, along with variations of this quote, has been associated with W. Edwards Deming, who was one of the predominant thinkers and innovators in the fields of twentieth-century engineering and quality management.
