Capital/Financial Considerations

Chapter Chapter 9 in Commercializing Growth, 2021, pp 75-83 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Corporate growth is clearly a confluence of multiple factors that must collaborate on a shared vision for the enterprise. One element deserves more attention than the others. It is the acquisition of and allocation of capital. It stands alone in that no function can contribute to the overall vision without sustaining capital. How are the decisions to allow investment in each company or project made? What are the investor criteria? Without this knowledge, a scenario for failure ensues. Let us look at the elements. A tool that helps visualize this is the “S” Curve or life cycle graphic.
