Chapter Chapter 8 in The Startup Players Handbook, 2023, pp 277-327 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract An adventuring party is formed and has a goal they need to accomplish. Maybe they make it through the adventure, or maybe they don’t. If they don’t, hopefully they try again. Sometimes, the adventure turns into a series of games, often with an overarching theme and many of the same characters. A campaign in role-playing games begins with a single game, and some of the decisions we make early on have interesting repercussions as the games unfold and the party levels up. Some companies start that way as well.
