Chapter Chapter 9 in Applied Fourier Analysis, 2017, pp 255-277 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Medical imaging has revolutionized modern medicine in many ways. The first form of what we refer to as medical imaging is generally credited to Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, who went on to win the first Nobel prize in 1901 for his efforts (Stanton, Nature, 253:274–276, 1895, [19]). This first x-ray picture, which he took of his wife’s hand clearly showing her hands and wedding ring is shown in Figure 9.1.
