Chapter Chapter 4 in Reverberations of a Stroke, 2019, pp 13-16 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract I did not really need them, but the caregivers of Home Care of the Rockies were all very nice. After the mandatory 72 hours of round-the-clock home supervision, I was finally home alone. I slept a lot: the sleep of deep exhaustion, recovering from all those weeks of the hospital protocol of waking the patient constantly. I really needed some rest. I also enjoyed my own kitchen, roaming around the house, looking at the mountains, taking short walks in the neighborhood, and buying groceries at the nearby supermarket. I have been my own “caretaker” since my wife Rose died in 1980—long ago—so this was a familiar lifestyle to me.
