Chapter Chapter 6 in Chaos, 2019, pp 207-269 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The final chapter assembles a miscellany of applications, starting with various methods of data analysis, including statistical methods, phase space embedding and Lyapunov exponents. This leads to an extended discussion of fractals, including sections on Julia sets and the Mandelbrot set. The final part of the chapter revisits the relation of chaos to turbulence, and gives a lengthy description of the onset of turbulence in shear flows, and its possible relation to homoclinic bifurcations in partial differential equations.
