Abstract: Zusammenfassung Mit der Bezeichnung „Platonismus“ ist nicht die gesamte von Platon vertretene Philosophie gemeint, sondern nur die allgemeine Tendenz der platonischen Philosophie, die Gegenstände der Mathematik als extramentale Entitäten aufzufassen. Es war Paul Bernays (1888–1977), der 1935 (op. cit.) dieser allgemeinen Tendenz den Namen „Platonismus“ gab.
