Abstract: Abstract Stakeholders are people who are influenced by or can influence the activities of others. In many cases, stakeholders are representing their self-interests as well as those of other people, groups, organizations, collectives, or even inanimates such as plants, animals, and future generations. Engaging stakeholders, no matter who or what they are, is crucial since they can influence our actions and disrupt or contribute to our success. Through interactions, we can find out their preferences and see where mutually value-producing solutions are possible. The values that can be produced from stakeholder interactions include representativeness, transparency, accessibility, responsiveness, accountability, and sustainability. These values are essential for individuals, especially when they are dealing with organizations, no matter how big or small or in what sector they operate. This chapter introduces a process-based logic model to understand what inputs and processes are possible for enhancing value through stakeholder engagement.
