Chapter Chapter 8 in Handbook of Big Geospatial Data, 2021, pp 185-197 from Springer

In this article, we introduce key concepts, focusing in particular on the structural properties of semantic trajectories. Hence, we discuss a possible taxonomy of semantic trajectory models, based on their purpose.
