Import Substitution in Russia
Christian Altmann ()
Chapter 13 in Russia Business, 2021, pp 105-108 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Since 2000, the Russian government has tried hard to develop the local manufacturing sector and domestic service industry in order to replace foreign products with Russian goods (import substitution). The main goal of this strategy was to increase domestic production and to diversify the Russian economy, which was heavily dependent on oil and gas exports.
