Chapter Chapter 6 in Analyzing Narratives in Social Networks, 2021, pp 99-116 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we look at the extreme condition of conflict: war [211]. Now that we have modeled conflict as partition (see Chaps. 3, 4, 5), we move to a canonical text of war: Sun Tzu’s The Art of War. In this chapter, we translate Sun Tzu into the language of social networks. The metaphorical nature of Sun Tzu’s text has allowed it to endure through time, and across cultures and disciplines. The metaphor laden nature of the text makes The Art of War applicable to many contexts, and both fun and challenging to read. This is particularly pertinent in contemporary times.
