Harsanyi

Chapter Chapter 15 in Early Utilitarians, 2021, pp 79-90 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract John Harsanyi won the 1994 Nobel Prize in Economics for his Bayesian solution to the problem of incomplete information in game theory. One would have thought that this achievement alone would have been enough to gain the respect of the philosophical community, but Harsanyi is largely ignored by orthodox philosophers,in spite of his providing coherent answers to the utilitarian questions left hanging in the air by Jeremy Bentham.1
