Chapter Chapter 3 in Modelling of Complex Signals in Nerves, 2021, pp 21-43 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Neuroscience is sometimes characterised as information processing in neural networks. The basic elements of these networks are nerve fibres where the signals propagate. The analysis of these basic elements means that one should deal with dynamical processes and that brings us directly to the concept of wave motion. That is why one should start with the physics and the corresponding description of waves. The main question is how the physics of wave motion can be described in mathematical terms.
