A chapter in Connected Business, 2021, pp 361-369 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Platform business models realize extraordinary rapid growth rates through connecting businesses with customers. The clear understanding of how to manage core metrics is crucial for the growth journey. This article examines the role and types of “scale-up metrics” in driving growth strategically and organizationally. Findings are illustrated with Groupon as the main case study—a platform that achieved to grow to one billion dollars in revenue just 2 years after its inception. This article concludes with outlining a five-step approach designed to help growing ventures define their scale-up metrics.
