Chapter Chapter 5 in Trade Wins or Trade Wars, 2021, pp 71-99 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The chapter consists of three distinctive sections. First, it provides a demonstration of how the Polish academic literature on the effects of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) compares to that in English, French, German, and Italian. It shows that the Polish outputs follow patterns similar to those in the other languages and makes a proposition that the Polish research literature could be representative of that in other countries. Second, it analyses 51 research publications on FTAs published in Polish between 1995 and 2019. We note that the sentiment of the majority of outputs is unequivocally favourable towards free trade. Third, we construct the Expert Knowledge Dictionary (EKD) of 1540 terms frequently encountered in the academic literature. It is then used in Chap. 6 to conduct the content analysis of the Polish internet news sources and examine the extent of expert knowledge contained in them.
