Chapter Chapter 2 in State Corporate Control in Transition, 2021, pp 11-39 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The chapter assesses of the present state of knowledge on the state corporate control in transition countries, including Poland, within the existing research perspectives, and identifies the existing knowledge gaps and possibilities of using these approaches in further research. Transition research, economic policy research and economic systems research are the research streams which may fit most of the studies on state corporate control in transition economies, but generally, they underestimate or even neglect this subject—with several notable exceptions such as new state capitalism studies or relatively unknown studies on resource and distributive economies. Public choice perspective has a very strong explanatory potential in analyzing the real trajectories and outcomes of the evolution of the state corporate control, although the role of SOEs in the institutional setup of transition economies so far was not fully appreciated.
