Abstract:
Abstract Quality investing seeks to outperform the market by identifying companies with superior quality characteristics. This investment approach is widely accepted as an established strategy to produce attractive returns. Quality is a complex risk factor that covers multiple company aspects. This chapter describes the common characteristics of quality companies. They can be adapted to develop a rating system to systematically identify quality companies. The chapter provides a sample of quality measures used in the investment community. It is concluded with a detailed introduction to the return premium of the quality factor.
