Chapter Chapter 1 in The Mathematics of Errors, 2021, pp 5-10 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The teaching of physics in high school classrooms is intended to distinguish itself from mathematics by emphasizing “physical sense” to students. This expression refers to the understanding of orders of magnitude, devices and experimental tools. The approach implements a particular knowledge, specific to the experimental sciences: the treatment of errors. This pedagogical philosophy is reviewed and criticized.
